Lena Kaplan: In the beginning there was the father's word
Lena Kaplan, 17, started practicing short track skating at the age of 11. Her father suggested that she try the sport. She instantly got to like the speed and the competitive spirit of short track. Lena has been representing the IISF at international competitions since the age of 14. To my question about what helps her going on with daily training she replied that she just likes it, and does it effortlessly- she is not afraid of working out. The training keeps her busy and disciplined. And how to overcome the pre-competition goose bumps? Lena has a very simple tip: you just forget about it and get on the ice.
