Evgeny Krasnopolsky: the next goal is to get all the elements in
Evgeny Krasnopolsky is a three-time Israel's National Junior Champion in the men's category. He started skating at the age of 7 when his father brought him to the skating rink just for a try. Evgeny has taken part in three Junior World Championships and several Junior Grand Prix series
Q: Evgeny, how many hours a day do you train?
A: I am off the ice at the moment. I am back on the ice in July. Usually I spend 4 to 5 hours a day on training.
Q: What are your favourite elements?
A: My favourite elements are the triple toe loop and the spins.
Q: And what is your most difficult element?
A: The triple lutz.
Q: Well, there is something to aspire to master.
A: Definitely. That is my next goal. To get all the required elements in and to skate them cleanly in a programme.
Q: Do you have a particular choice of music for your programs?
A: Not really. My coach and I decide together on the choice of music. If I like a piece of music, it doesn't matter what kind of music it is. The last programme was to a classical music piece.
Q: Your coach told me that patience is an indispensable part of a coach's character. Is your coach patient?
A: Oh, yes! She is also the one who has inspired me with the love for figure skating.
Q: She also thinks that the desire to win makes an athlete. What would you say to that?
A: I can only agree.
Q: Well, as I understand, there is a perfect coach-athlete harmony here. But what else makes you dedicated to this sport?
A: I just love skating. It's the control over the ice, and the speed, and the elements.
Q: Do you set goals before yourself for programs or skating seasons?
A: Sure. My next goal is to improve my results at the Junior Worlds.
Q: We can only wish you to follow up on that!
A: Thank you!
